  1. Select E-mail Accounts... from the Tools pull-down menu.

  2. Select Add new E-mail account:

  3. Select POP3 as the Server Type

  4. Fill in the information for your E-mail account. Replacing the information below with the information that was sent to you.

  5. Click Next and then Finish.  Just about done.  Now let's go back and Review the information and add some more details.
Go back to the Tools menu and click on Email accounts, then select View or Change on this screen:

  6. Now highlight the new Email account and select Change:

  7. You will see the screen below, click on More Settings:

  8. On this screen, add the information similar to below.  This is the information that appears in the Recipient's Inbox.

  9. Next Click on the Outgoing server tab to be sure that the Outgoing server is set as indicated below.

  10. Next Click  on the Connection tab, most business situations will use the first option (LAN)

  11. Change the Outgoing Server port from 25 to 587.  Some ISP's block port 25, and this setting will allow your Email to go through.

  12. Now Click APPLY.  You are finished with the basic setup.
Special note - if you have more than one Email account, you need to go back to item # 6, and click on Default - making your new account the Default.

Now for a couple of final touches!

  1. Go to Step one and click on Options:

  2. On the Options screen, you will find many items that you can customize, however most of them should be OK for now (leave as is). We do want to setup a Signature, so click on Mail Format Tab:

  3. A Signature is very important.   Of course, it provides basic information about yourself, it can also be used to present a Marketing Message, like "Our Beans are Great".  Click on the Signature button on the bottom:

  4. On this screen, click on New and start typing.  Save when done.

  5. Now you should be back to this screen. There are three items that need to modified.

  6. The last step is to go back to the Main screen of Outlook and select View.
We recommend that you turn off the Preview Pane and the AutoPreview options.
This is another virus inoculation function; thousands of viruses have been designed to RUN if viewed in the Preview Pane.

Good Luck!
